Può rendersi necessario ripristinare le opzioni del Player di default di Windows Vista, in questo caso copia/incollate il contenuto fra le due righe tratteggiate nel Notepad e salvate con estensione *.reg con un nome qualsiasi ad esempio AUTOPLAY.REG. All'occorreenza lanciate e confermate l'immissione nel registro del file stesso:
